At Phoenix Valley Dog Training, all of our dog training methods are humane and dog-friendly. We will never use pain or physical punishment to train your dog. We also do not expect our owners to rely on clickers or shock collars or barking at their dog. We expect our dogs to respond to their owner's verbal and physical commands, not to a device or a negative stimulus. |
We also understand that not every method works with every dog. Our program is very fluid. We take the time to evaluate your dog's drive and temperament and then tailor a program to develop their personality into that of a well-adjusted, confident dog. |
Most important, we put you in charge of your dog. We will show you how to train your dog and how to become the leader in your dog's eyes. You can throw obedience and correction commands at your dog all day long, but if he does not view you as his leader, then he is ultimately making the decision on whether or not he obeys those commands. |
Strong leadership feeds your dog's self confidence and security. The more that they trust their owner as their leader, the fewer behavioral problems they will have as they grow. We will show you how to be a strong leader for your dog. |
Through our program and our teachings, you will learn how to control your dog and teach your dog to look to you for his cues on how to behave. A dog that is under your control is a dog that you can be proud of and count on every day. We'll help you get there. |
Our programs have been developed for busy people who don't have hours every day to dedicate to their dog training. |
When you work with Phoenix Valley Dog Training, you will receive multiple in-home sessions and unlimited telephone and email support for your questions between sessions. |
Our pricing is determined by your dog's specific problems and your training goals. We do not use a "cookie-cutter" method for quoting prices to our customers. |
We will take the time to discuss your dog's problems and we will work with you to develop a training plan to meet your training goals. |
"Just a quickie to let you know that I took Shasta on a 50 minute walk today and she was nearly perfect from the get go! I can't believe it! Maybe it was beginners luck but I am just thrilled to enjoy a walk with her and I really think she enjoyed it too! Thank you so much!" |

Our dog training methodology is incredibly effective because we have based it on over ten years of successful results. We've learned with every dog that we've trained. |
At Phoenix Valley Dog Training, we are not limited to old-fashioned methods that we are required to use because of a corporate mandate. |
We work with dogs and their owners. A dog that responds to a dog trainer, but not the owner, is not a successfully trained dog. |
When we teach an owner to train their dog, it is very important to us to communicate the "why" behind the methods. You can teach mechanics all day long, but if the person performing the sessions doesn't understand why they are doing the work, the work may not be done effectively. We teach you how and why training methods work with your dog. |
