At Phoenix Valley Dog Training it is our mission to effectively train all of our dogs using humane, dog-friendly techniques to help develop a dog that can be a quality, lifelong companion to their owner and can have a relationship with their owner based on mutual trust and respect, not fear of pain or physical punishment. |
Phoenix Valley Dog Training promotes caring relationships between dogs and their owners by educating the owner in canine behavior and emphasizing reward and praise-based, positive reinforcement training. We will never use pain, physical punishment, shock stimulus, gimmicks or devices to accomplish our, and our clients', training goals and objectives. |
At Phoenix Valley Dog Training our goal is to help our clients achieve all of their dog training objectives, and we don't stop until we meet that goal. Whether the problem is dog obedience or dog behavior, we work with our clients and their dogs until we resolve every dog training issue that they are experiencing. |
Steve Wood is the full-time, lead dog trainer for Phoenix Valley Dog Training. He has been training dogs in the Phoenix valley for many years and is also the owner of the Phoenix franchise of the Canine Dimensions Home Dog Training Company, a national company specializing in humane, dog-friendly training methods. |
Steve and his bulldog, Tigger, live in Peoria, Arizona and service the entire Phoenix Valley. He has successfully trained hundreds of dogs over the years and is recognized for his abilities by The International Association of Canine Professionals and The Association of Pet Dog Trainers. |
Steve is also a certified evaluator for the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen program and he is Red Cross certified in Canine CPR and First Aid. |
Always having a love for dogs, Steve began training them at an early age. Working with dogs that belonged to family members and friends, he soon realized that he had a gift for communicating with the animals, as well as, for his ability to communicate with and teach the owners how to help their dogs respond to them consistently. |
He quickly turned this hobby into a profession, becoming a nationally recognized Certified Dog Behavior Advisor and traveling the entire state of Arizona to help people resolve the problems that they are facing with their furry friends. |
We've received incredible feedback about Steve and intend to continue our relationship with him as long as he is training dogs. The most common things that we hear about Steve are that his sense of humor makes the sessions very fun and enjoyable and that his abilities to counsel and teach people are second only to his abilities with the animals themselves. |
"I know it's been a long and tiresome road, but I wanted to let you know that the efforts are definitely paying off. I can't thank you enough for the help you've given me with Wrigley. I was walking him today and we were joined about halfway through by Julie and her dog. Wrigley never even flinched. I was so proud of him. I came home right after and felt like I needed to let you know. The change I've seen in him over the past few months has been nothing short of miraculous. I know there's a lot of work still ahead of us, but I want to thank you for never giving up, for always giving encouragement and for always being there, even when my questions were small ones. Thank you so much for your teachings and your support. Your program is awesome!" |
